Happy 2013!

Happy New Year!  How did everyone spend their last night of ’12?

I spent it without my husband, but my best friends, and it was fantastic!

Not everyone got Christmas cards, so I made some new year cards. This involved a photo and Happy New Year printed on card stock, spray adhesive, and glitter!  The flower up in the corner is recycled newspaper and the chipboard numbers are from BasicGrey’s Fact & Fiction line.  The background behind Happy New Year is glitter I found and copied and pasted til it made an entire background =)

I pray that 2013 shows you blessings beyond your wildest dreams, and you go for the gold in whatever you undertake!

Mother’s Day Card Workshop

Saturday, April 28, 2012 7p.m.

I’m hosting a Mother’s Day Card workshop at my humble home.  Since I live in a condo, space will be limited to 10 people.  If there is enough interest, I will be doing a second workshop either on Sunday, or the following week.

The event itself will be free.  If you place an order during the workshop weekend, you’ll receive 10% off your order.  Also,  the Dotty For You promotion will still be going on! (spend $35 and get the DFY paperpack for $5)

If you’d like to purchase a tombow adhesive runner/refills, I have some on hand. Runners are $3 and refills are $2, cuz I don’t believe in paying full price. =)

Tutorial Tuesday #1 Easy Christmas/Holiday Card Hanger

Hello, Hello! It is Tutorial Tuesday!  (I’m really going to try and keep up with this!)

Today is a really simple tutorial.  All you need is:

Holiday Cards
Scissors
Hole punch
Ribbon
Jump ring or D-ring.

(and a place to hang your finished product.  I took down a picture that usually hangs near where people come up the stairs into our dining area.)

So I amassed the Christmas Cards we’ve received and I wanted to make a big, pretty, elaborate Christmas Card holder to use year after year, but you know, this is a busy time of year.  So! In the meantime, I’ve created this super easy way to display your Christmas or other Holiday Cards.

First, grab your ring that all the ribbon is going to hang from.  I chose the little square one, but if you don’t have any of these, just steal a jump ring from an old keychain.

Second, punch a small hole in all your cards.  I punch on the inside of the back of the card.

Arrange your cards, then thread the ribbon through the holes you’ve punched.  Once you have them arranged nicely, tie a small knot below the punched hole so they don’t slide down the ribbon.

Note: If you are having a hard time threading the ribbon through the holes, use a large eyed needle.

Tie your ribbon of cards to the jump/D-ring.  If you receive more cards after you’ve assembled this, you can always add another ribbon to the ring!

Voila! There you have it! A super easy Holiday Card holder.  Use it for more than just Christmas! You can even make one of these for Birthday or Mother’s Day cards!

Happy Crafting and Happy Holidays!
