Nose Stud Sale

I won’t start on Black Friday, well, because I’ll be out at midnight on Thanksgiving and not back til the wee hours of the morning, then I will be serving dinner at my house Friday night.  (New tradition a friend started, I like to go for the company and the laugh at the bargain fever, it gets crazy around here, not to mention last year I found a PS3 with a game for $200)

Now I know, I’m usually nowhere to be found near the internet on a Saturday, I just happen to have some time to waste before I’m off on an adventure.

I made a new banner for my Etsy!  It’s simple, but I like it.  Please excuse the poor quality, it’s 760×100 pixels, and I stretched it so it was at least seeable.  There is what I thougth was going to be a chevron quilt, but has actually been turning into one huge diamond, as well as one of the favorite necklaces I’ve made.

It’s a beautiful day already, but alas, I think it is going to be 90 degrees again.  Michiganders aren’t prepared for such heat, we wilt.  lol

After a nice catchup lunch with some girlfriends, I’m going to retreat to the air conditioning at my friend’s house and quilt the day away.

I might do some embroidering because I have a mini quilt swap that I’m waiting to hear who my partner is.  =)

Happy Friday!

First day of my Holiday weekend, I’m pretty excited.  (I woke up a little too early, but that’s okay)  For those of you across the pond (and beyond) It’s Memorial Day weekend in the U.S.

I have to cut some fabric to fill an etsy order, do some laundry, dishes, and make room for our new washer and dryer to come tomorrow!
Yes, I’m doing laundry before the new washer comes, because it will be an HE washer and our detergent is not meant for HE use.

A few of my friends are doing a square swap to make a friendship quilt, and we picked Blueberry Crumbcake by Blackbird Designs as our fabric.  (It’s a Moda fabric…)  Here are some of my tiny, million triangles, I’m doing a block from the Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along Book.

On a whim this morning, I made an etsy treasury about non-white wedding dresses.

And here, is a lovely little beach coverup dress I picked up at Wal-mart for $5.  I’m going to embroider on it to give it a little pop of color.

Ooooo!  Sunday I’ll be taking pictures for a baptism and going to a Kurtz family picnic (at the old family farm).  I’ll have to post pictures afterwards!

Jewelry Hoarder

I don’t wear much jewelry, usually a bracelet and maybe a pair of earrings, but I am obsessed with jewelry!  I love to make it and collect it. 

Etsy is an amazing place chock full of handmade jewelry, and jewelry supplies.  I have some of my own work posted there.  www.etsy.com/shop/kurtzcrafts  If you are unfamiliar with etsy, you can search by handmade, supplies, vintage, people, and shops.  You have to create an account to buy or sell, but it’s worth it.  Paypal is the norm, but some shops still accept checks and money orders.

Pinterest is your personal bulletin board of awesomeness.  It’s like digitally cutting your favorite stuff out of magazines and books and displaying it for all to see.  Just make sure you link back to where you originally found it!  Pinterest is by invitation, so let me know if you aren’t already a member and you’d like to join.

Too Much Fabric? Never!

My husband believes that I have too much fabric that I will never use.  Which is totally not true! In an effort to passify him, I’m offering fat quarters and charm packs hand cut from my fabric stash on my yardsellr. 

I am trying really hard to keep my crafts separate, so I don’t confuse buyers.  Jewelry will be sold on yardsellr and style.ly, and fabric will be sold on yardsellr.  Sewn, crochet, and papercrafts will be sold in my etsy shop.
