So I am thoroughly ashamed of myself, but I took pictures to shame myself further… lol
This picture is after I’ve cleaned HALF of the mess up! That table was my computer desk, and yes, there really was a computer on there with all that. The couch was making a barricade for me to pile up against, then we moved the couch and I got to work.
This is the pile that I’ve already moved into the office
And here is what is already half organized in the closet
And here is WHY I decided to tackle my mess… To go from this
Just a quick little update before I try to get some real sleep tonight…
First, my shiny new washer and dryer
And some of the pinks, oranges, and yellows sewn into the beginning of my chevron quilt.
Woohoo! Tomorrow is Friday!
Here is a sneak peek of the fabric I just received today, I didn’t waste any time to start piecing. This quilt is going to Quilts for Kids. (no, this isn’t the kit I got from them, I’m still waiting for that.)
Maybe a chevron pattern?
Pinks, Yellows, and Oranges: precut squares I bought on yardsellr
Happy Tuesday! I knew it was time for another Tutorial Tuesday, but I couldn’t decide which tutorial to feature today. The solution? Link over to my pinterest board; Hey, I could make that!

OH MAN! UPDATE!
So I was digging through my blog subscriptions and stumbled upon a sewing knits tutorial! AMAZING! and simple! Tissue Paper!
Go over and see it in all it’s glory with pictures. http://www.mesewcrazy.com/2012/05/end-knit-wavy-seam-syndrome.html
First day of my Holiday weekend, I’m pretty excited. (I woke up a little too early, but that’s okay) For those of you across the pond (and beyond) It’s Memorial Day weekend in the U.S.
I have to cut some fabric to fill an etsy order, do some laundry, dishes, and make room for our new washer and dryer to come tomorrow!
Yes, I’m doing laundry before the new washer comes, because it will be an HE washer and our detergent is not meant for HE use.
A few of my friends are doing a square swap to make a friendship quilt, and we picked Blueberry Crumbcake by Blackbird Designs as our fabric. (It’s a Moda fabric…) Here are some of my tiny, million triangles, I’m doing a block from the Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along Book.
On a whim this morning, I made an etsy treasury about non-white wedding dresses.
And here, is a lovely little beach coverup dress I picked up at Wal-mart for $5. I’m going to embroider on it to give it a little pop of color.
Ooooo! Sunday I’ll be taking pictures for a baptism and going to a Kurtz family picnic (at the old family farm). I’ll have to post pictures afterwards!
So I got home from work and decided that I wanted to hang my hooks for necklaces. I’m pretty handy (when I want to be) and here is my hooks, and the earring holder I made for myself. The little white hooks came from Big Lots for $3 and also came in black or brown with silver hooks.
You like my pretty blue walls? I’m proud of the Hub, he picked it out himself.
And then here is fabric that I bought, intending them all to go together, but looking at them again, some are too bold for the others…
Some are floral, some are plaid, and some are just cute patterns. If you have a good quilt pattern in mind, I’m all ears!
So I plugged “quilt blog” into Google, and I WAS ON THE FRONT PAGE!!! *does a little jig* I am super psyched! Granted, it was actually my google+ account talking about my blog, but still! Me+front page= doesn’t happen often. I just thought I’d celebrate a little. Yipee!
Now that THAT is over… lol I am going to leave the office a little early today, and maybe organize some stash, as well as get ready to destash. What does destashing mean for you? A giveaway! Stay tuned for that in the next few days =)
I am super excited! I opened my e-mail, read my blog subscription from Make It and Love It (link will take you to Ashley’s post)…
Long story short, they just did a post on Quilts for Kids. It’s put on by Downy, and lots and lots of volunteers.
You go to the site, request a kit, and you are sent pre-cut pieces to make a quilt! Sew a bunch of straight lines, buy some batting and assemble, then pay to mail it back! Voila! A kid in the hospital will have a snuggly, handmade quilt from you! I didn’t know, but apparently most kids are in a situation where they can’t have something to comfort them from home such as a blankie or stuffed animal, but they can have a freshly washed, handmade with love quilt. =)
I requested two kits, they said allow 1-2 weeks for processing and shipping! *jumps up and down*
Hey! I’ve missed you. I don’t have a whole lot going on crafty wise in my life at the moment… (My new sewing machine is lonely!) But I did buy some fabric that I wanted to share. I have the afternoon off, and after lunch with the husband, I plan on starting some laundry and sewing!
On the left, a lightweight lineny feeling fabric that I found at wal-mart on clearance. I’m going to make a tunic looking top out of it.
On the right, the coolest fabric ever that is going to be made into a big-ass-bag.
I bought extra! I placed it in my Etsy shop!
I swear I haven’t disappeared, but I am busier than I can handle at the moment, and God is telling me I better write in the other blog, or else! (Not really, but it feels that way!) http://heygoditsmelissa.wordpress.com
