Now I know, I’m usually nowhere to be found near the internet on a Saturday, I just happen to have some time to waste before I’m off on an adventure.
I made a new banner for my Etsy! It’s simple, but I like it. Please excuse the poor quality, it’s 760×100 pixels, and I stretched it so it was at least seeable. There is what I thougth was going to be a chevron quilt, but has actually been turning into one huge diamond, as well as one of the favorite necklaces I’ve made.
It’s a beautiful day already, but alas, I think it is going to be 90 degrees again. Michiganders aren’t prepared for such heat, we wilt. lol
After a nice catchup lunch with some girlfriends, I’m going to retreat to the air conditioning at my friend’s house and quilt the day away.
I might do some embroidering because I have a mini quilt swap that I’m waiting to hear who my partner is. =)
What’s on your agenda for this beautiful Saturday?
So forever and ever ago, I mentioned prettybyhand.com and the stunning quilt pattern that lead me to find her blog. She has now launched her own pattern store!!! I am so excited for her, and I’m practically hyperventilating because I bought the pattern!!!!! You better go on over to her shop and check it out, and find the promotion for 20% off on her blog!!! http://prettybyhand.bigcartel.com/
Here are some of the goodies I received from fire mountain gems, there are plenty more, just haven’t unpacked everything yet!
creamy dahlia rings
These pretty rings are for sale in my etsy shop!
I’m going to be making a Super Mario wallhanging and the hub is super excited. There is a super mario QAL going on, but I don’t like a few of the blocks. Some I will have to map out myself. If you’re interested in the Super Mario QAL, go to
I am an utter and complete failure. While making the quilts for kids quilt, I’ve totally screwed it up, and I’ve taken out lines upon lines of quilting, only to make it worse. If that isn’t bad enough, this is week four, and they asked that they be returned in three to four weeks. Now I am trying to get it finished, but it isn’t quality enough to send back… I don’t know what to do. Do I just send them some money? Do I make some quilt tops and send them in with backing and batting for someone else to make nicer quilts with? I suck.
So yeah, that’s where I am today. It’s hot, I have no will to work, and I’m worried about the quilt that I’ve mussed up pretty badly. *sigh*
Here is the beginning of my Quilts for Kids quilt with a John Deere theme.
Just a quick little update before I try to get some real sleep tonight…
First, my shiny new washer and dryer
And some of the pinks, oranges, and yellows sewn into the beginning of my chevron quilt.
Woohoo! Tomorrow is Friday!
Here is a sneak peek of the fabric I just received today, I didn’t waste any time to start piecing. This quilt is going to Quilts for Kids. (no, this isn’t the kit I got from them, I’m still waiting for that.)
Maybe a chevron pattern?
Pinks, Yellows, and Oranges: precut squares I bought on yardsellr
So I plugged “quilt blog” into Google, and I WAS ON THE FRONT PAGE!!! *does a little jig* I am super psyched! Granted, it was actually my google+ account talking about my blog, but still! Me+front page= doesn’t happen often. I just thought I’d celebrate a little. Yipee!
Now that THAT is over… lol I am going to leave the office a little early today, and maybe organize some stash, as well as get ready to destash. What does destashing mean for you? A giveaway! Stay tuned for that in the next few days =)
So www.prettybyhand.com has become a blog that I frequent often. Yesterday’s post is amazing. I must own a copy of the pattern once it’s available. The Farmhouse Parlour Quilt that Kristyne made for Lecien fabrics is Amazing! Go see the entire post (and more pictures!) here.
The fabrics and the quilt are just so beautiful!
These are the lovely squares that need to be sewn together to make my version of an Emma Star quilt. There will be a light border fabric with solid brown stars in between all the squares.
Here is the beginning of my Dresden Plate quilt, I’ve cut reds, pinks, and will be cutting browns. I’m trying to decide if I want a cream or peach to be the background.
Meet Graham. He’s 7 months old, and I just took pictures of him. His crafty mommy Maya made his adorable steampunk outfit.
His little hat kept falling off his head, and he thought it was hillarious!
